Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Set to Fight

empire-manny-pacquiao-floyd-mayweather-fightMiami, Florida-

Two of the highest paid athletes in the world are all set to meet glove-to-glove in the ring. There have been rumors of this fight happening for several months, and after all the drama, the contracts, and the disappointments, fans can finally prepare themselves to see these two settle it in the ring.

The high profile fight truly began to take shape last year, when friends of Mayweather began mercilessly teasing him, claiming that he would never take a fight with Pacquiao because he knew that he would lose. Apparently, Mayweather took this as a challenge, a blow to his ego that rattled his cage enough to agree to get in the ring.

“I’m not afraid of anyone.” says Mayweather. “I will step in the ring with King Kong himself, and I’d whoop that monkey’s ass, too. They say money can’t buy you happiness, but I tell you what- I’ll feel extremely happy when I get the extreme amounts of cash from this fight purse. In no way shape or form will Manny be able to stand toe-to-toe with me.”

It appears that Mayweather has it in his head already that the fight is in the bag, and he should breeze though it as if it was just any punk off of the street. This may or may not be the case, but in Pacquiao’s eyes the outcome of the fight will be completely different.

“I’m going to punch him in the face until he can’t get up.” said Pacquiao, being as literal as possible in his description of the fight. “Then when he is down, I will laugh in his face. Floyd is useless. Wait and see. All his money, it won’t be able to save him in the ring. Maybe he can use $100 bill to wipe away the blood and tears.”

“Blood and tears? That sonofa—. You know what I’ll use that $100 bill for?” Said Mayweather in response. “I’m going to use that $100 bill to buy a box of tissues, because they’re way softer than money for wiping away tears. Also, I’ll expect at least $98 in change from that $100, and I’ll put that back in the bank. Can’t be too careful in this economy.”

The full fight card has not yet been announced, but the pay-per-view event is scheduled for the end of August, and will be held at the Sands Casino in Las Vegas.

Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather Files Bankruptcy

empire-sports-floyd-mayweather-jr-bankrupt-broke-money-tmtGrand Rapids, MI-

The most notorious professional boxer in our generation is taking a huge smack to the face following the news of his bankruptcy. Floyd “Money” Mayweather is going to have to find  new nickname, unless of course he wants to keep it in an ironic way. This being said because one of the richest boxers in the game is flat broke at the moment, and news of him filling for bankruptcy has hit the air.

Rumors of how this has happened have also leaked, and with this gentlemen type of arrogance, you won’t be surprised to find some of these rumors true. One of the rumors going around is that he lost a small fortune by having female strippers count his money for him. All I’m saying that if some dude had me count his millions, and I was a stripper, I’d frame some hundreds down my panties as well.

Another rumor which can easily be the cause of his current poorness, is him mixing up a bag at an airport, which he had millions of dollars in.

“Well he called our main office and asked if they had found a bag with millions of dollars in it” said a representative of the airlines

“We had a great laugh in the office, because I doubt their is any type of kind person in the world that would return that amount of money. Screw the good feeling of doing the right thing, you can buy a very good psychologist with that type of cash and get over it.”

Mayweather has yet to comment on the news of this happening, but don’t be surprised if you see his twitter page covered with photos of him flaunting monopoly money, seeing how at the moment that is all he has going for him.

Floyd Mayweather Jr Gets Naked Outside Of Washington DC Club

empire-sports-floyd-mayweather-jr-nude-arrest-money-tmt-naked-drunkWASHINGTON, DC — Notorious boxing champion Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. is no stranger to flashing his money around publicly, but this weekend he shocked many on the streets of Washington D.C. by flashing more than just money.

According to several eye-witnesses, an apparently intoxicated Mayweather got a little too fresh with some women passing by outside of a club in D.C. before dropping his pants and yelling obscenities towards the women.

“He was in large group of men, some that looked like body guards, and he started flashing a whole lot of money at some women passing by,” said Joseph Goldsmith, who witnessed the altercation. “I guess he didn’t like that the women ignored him because he started taking his clothes off and yelling something like, ‘you know you want this, bitch’.”

Witnesses said Mayweather and his group hopped in to a nearby car and fled before police arrived.

DC Police say they may have enough evidence to arrest Mayweather for indecent exposure as several witnesses had captured cell-phone photos of the incident although no charges have been officially filed.

Mayweather, nor anyone from his camp have commented on the allegations.

Floyd Mayweather To Buy Boxing

empire-sports-floyd-mayweather-buy-boxing-money-paydayLAS VEGAS—

Don’t be confused by the headline. Money Mayweather is not buying a boxing gym, boxing promotion company, or a fight venue. He is buying boxing itself. It may sound crazy, but Mayweather is super rich, and boxing has virtually no value at this point. It is like a billionaire investor buying penny stocks. Most likely the stocks will not pay off since it is so high risk. But when they do, it is a windfall of cash.

Mayweather is one of only a few boxers who has been able to remain financially sound. Most fighters end up broke and very desperate. They usually try to sue Don King when they realize how bad their finances are at the end of their careers. That desperation move rarely pays off and the boxers stay poor. Floyd Mayweather has been smart enough to be the promoter of his own fights, instead of letting people like Don King get all that money.

The idea to buy boxing as an entity, came to Floyd as he was watching a documentary on the UFC. He could not believe how sound the business model of the UFC was, compared to his sport. Todd Dale, a spokesman for Mayweather told us, “Money May knows it is a matter of time before boxing is completely destroyed by the various sanctioning bodies, corrupt judges, and greedy promoters. Once he buys the sport, he will get rid of all that junk. He has the power to do it too…you know he keeps a private jet!”

Mayweather has said in past interviews how much he admires and respects UFC president Dana White. He apparently plans to run boxing in a similar fashion as White. “There will be actual quality fights, just like in the UFC, once Floyd owns boxing outright. No more pathetic match ups that cost $60 to watch on PPV. Of course this plan will take effect after Money May is no longer an active fighter. We can’t have him caught up in a quality fight. Who knows how that would go,” stated Dale.

In a related story, there is also a rumor going around that Mayweather will buy the old Evander Holyfield mansion in Atlanta. A rapper recently bought the 109 room obscenity, but it looks like the future owner of boxing is going to make him an offer he can’t refuse. It is thought that the mansion will be used as a storage building for Mayweather. One man’s unaffordable estate is another man’s storage locker. The difference is likely the 52 children by 44 women in one of the fighter’s case.

Don King Admits To Being The Devil In Autobiography

empire-sports-don-king-admits-hes-devil-evil-boxing-promoter-book-2014NEW YORK—

Boxing headlines never cease to amaze me anymore. The sport has fallen so far over the past ten years, but every now and then a story comes out of the sport that makes you wonder. In a new autobiography set for release in late 2014, Don King admits that he is the devil himself. He is not being metaphoric in any way either. He states in the book that he “is the devil, vacations in hell, and intends to destroy the entire planet after he is finished dismantling the sport of boxing.” A bold statement from the wire haired freak indeed.

This news may not shock some boxing fans, as Don King has long been considered the bane of existence in the fight game. Some people in the media are not sure what to make of the admission. HBO boxing analyst, Max Kellerman has come out and questioned the sanity of King after hearing about this new book. “We all know that Don King is basically a dirtbag of a human being, but a supernatural evil doer? I can’t get on board with that theory. He may just need to check into a psych ward asap.” We contacted HBO’s other fight gurus as well, but Larry Merchant’s incoherent ramblings were unprintable. Likewise, Jim Lampley’s comments were so high brow and pretentious, they hardly belonged inside a boxing article.

There is a long list of former boxers that would believe this story outright. The fighters that have been screwed over allegedly by Don King are plentiful to say the least. Mike Tyson, Larry Holmes , and Terry Norris are just three guys who have sued King over what they saw as him cheating them out of money they were due. One story even alleges that King had chump change sent to an ailing Muhammad Ali in order to get him to sign a letter ending a million dollar lawsuit against the promoter. If the man could cheat ‘The Greatest’ out of that kind of cash, while Ali was in the hospital, then King may just be the devil. If he is not the devil, then he is likely a very highly ranked demon who is trying to cheat the devil out of his title.

Floyd Mayweather Jr., Manny Pacquiao Agree to Mega-Fight in 2014

Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Empire-Sports-Manny-Pacquiao-and-Floyd-Mayweather-Jr. have already booked a date to settle the score once and for all. According to a source close to situation, the megabuck showdown between Money May and the Pacman will finally take place in September 2014 after several failed attempts to arrange the biggest match in boxing history.

According to Latino Post, Youtube Boxing channel 78Sports TV reported that the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao showdown is already a done deal. The source, who disclosed insider’s information about Mayweather’s upcoming fights with Robert Guerrero and Saul Canelo Alvarez before these bouts were actually announced, indicated that Money May has already agreed to terms with Pacquiao.

“Great news in the world of boxing. He [the source] is telling me that Floyd and Manny Pacquiao will be fighting in 2014 guaranteed and it’s already done,” the 78Sports anchor said in his 16-minute commentary on Youtube. “Everything else that you will see will be just theatrics from here on out. But the fight is already done”

Finally – The Showdown of the Century

The boxing world has been clamouring for the megabuck fight over the last five to six years. Disputes over blood testing and fight-purse sharing had been the stumbling blocks to get the fight done in the past. But now, it appears that Mayweather and his camp has had a change of heart, allowing Pacquiao to emerge as enticing opponent for the undefeated American boxer.

Two weeks ago, Mayweather stressed that he won’t give Pacquiao any shot at his belts primarily because of the Filipino boxing star’s association with Bob Arum’s Top-Rank promotions.

“We all know the Pacquiao fight, at this particular time, will never happen, and the reason why the fight won’t happen is because I will never do business with Bob Arum again in life, and Pacquiao is Bob Arum’s fighter,” Mayweather told FightHype.com.

“Bob Arum gives Pacquiao a date, whereas Floyd Mayweather gives Floyd Mayweather his own date. I will be fighting again in May and I will be fighting again in September.”

However, there are rumours circulating that Pacquiao will be fighting Mayweather as a free-agent without any backings from Top-Rank promotions. The Pacman is under contract with Top-Rank until the end of 2014, though he could be represented by MP Promotions for that specific fight alone.

On the other hand, Mayweather is expected to announce his opponent in his May 3 event in MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas, Nevada. Great Britain’s top welterweight Amir Khan is the favourite to take on the Grand Rapids native in his Cinco de Mayo offering, but Marcos Maidana and Pacquiao have also gained momentum in the Money May sweepstakes, following their sensational wins in their latest bouts.

Maidana is fresh from a 12-round unanimous decision upset of pound-for-pound fighter Adrien Broner, while Pacquiao peppered Brandon Rios on his way to a unanimous decision victory inNovember in Macau, China.
